Year 4

This half term we have explored the importance of family and what it means to us. The children have brought in photos of their families to share with the class and we have created some fantastic artwork of Joseph.

Welcome back everyone!

I hope you had a good rest and are ready to start an exciting year in year 4.

In Year 4 we will be starting the year with our first topic 'burps, bottoms and bile', we will go on an exciting journey through the digestive system where we shall explore how the digestive system works, how to keep our bodies healthy and write our own narrative as a piece of food.

Every week the children will receive an English or Maths based homework on what we have covered in class during that week, they will also have 10 spellings to learn and learn our weekly timetables. It is crucial your child takes the time to complete this.

Please ensure that you read with your child at least three times a week as this has a positive impact in school. Remember reading should be pleasurable so feel free to read a selection of texts as well as home school reading books. Children will be rewarded for their efforts in school by receiving 10 raffle tickets if a parent has signed their reading record to show that you have read at least three times a week.

PE will be on a Wednesday afternoon with homework being sent out on a Friday, being returned no later than Thursday the following week.

I am really looking forward to working with you all this year and I hope you will enjoy all the exciting things I have planned for us this term, including a trip to Grimm & Co in November.

If you have any questions or queries, my door is always open.
