Welcome back everyone!
I hope you had a good rest and are ready to continue to work hard.
In Year 4 we will be studying Potions. We will start by exploring some weird and wonderful potions with ingredient that can be found in our kitchen cupboards at home, as well as creating our own potion bottles out of clay.
Every week the children will continue to receive an English or Maths based homework on what we have covered in class during that week, they will also have 10 spellings to learn, practise our handwriting to try and achieve a pen license and we will continue to work on our class times table each week.
Please continue to read with your child at least three times a week as this has a positive impact in school. Remember reading should be pleasurable so feel free to read a selection of texts as well as home school reading books. The school now has a brand new library which the children and I shall visit over the coming half term. Children will be rewarded for their efforts in school by receiving 10 raffle tickets if a parent has signed their reading record to show that you have read at least three times a week.
PE is still on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon with homework being sent out on Friday, being returned no later than Thursday the following week.
This half term we will be going an exciting trip to Magna to further expand our knowledge of the wonderful and magical world of potions.
If you have any questions or queries, my door is always open
