Olympic athlete, Sean Gaffney, visits St Mary's!

This week, St Mary's had the privilege of Olympic athlete, Sean Gaffney, joining us in a sponsored event to help raise money to purchase new sports equipment for our school!

After an accident preparing for the Royal Tournament in 1999 left him with a leg amputation which led to 25 surgeries, Sean did not let his journey stop there. Battling cancer twice with unwavering grit, he’s triumphantly competed in both the Invictus Games and Commonwealth Games. Sean’s story is one of incredible resilience, proving that with determination, even the toughest challenges can lead to extraordinary achievements.

The children had a wonderful time taking part and meeting Sean. Please ask your children about it!
