Our new topic is Art and Design based for Summer Term. In Year 4 we are using the text The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe to base our Art and Design project on. I will update Google Classroom weekly with different Topic creation and research ideas. There is SO much to create based on the Adventures the Pevensie children embark on through the enchanted wardrobe. There are many things you can bake and recreate that the children ate, scenes you can sketch and paint as well as characters to explore!
Other Project Ideas
Learn how to...
Make a cup of tea (being very careful with hot water!)
Make your bed and change your bedding over.
Help an adult cook Breakfast, Dinner and Tea.
Have a go at buttering your own bread or toast.
Water the plants in the garden.
Help hang out clothes on the washing line and fold washing.
This kind of experience will help children build skills such as communicating clearly, negotiating, cooperating and working as a team. When children contribute to family life, it helps them feel competent and responsible and gives them a feeling of satisfaction that comes with finishing a task. Sharing jobs can also help families work better and reduce family stress.
When children help out, jobs get done sooner, and parents/carers have less to do. This frees up time for families to spend doing fun things together!
