Year Four

Welcome to the Year 4 Class Page! 

 

We are an incredible team of children, taught by Miss Padian, Mr McCay, Mrs Keeton and Mr McHale!

 

We are all so excited to have you back and can't wait to see all your faces! This term promises to be an exciting one, in which we delve deep and explore the Ancient Civilisations of The Maya, Egyptians and Greeks. We will learn all about their different cultures and how they have influenced our own one today! There will be plenty of opportunities to be creative So I hope you are as eager to learn all about these amazing ancient societies as we are!

 

To tie in with our new topic, we will we entering the world of myths and fantasy with our new reading book, 'Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief.' This book brings alive the amazing world of Ancient Greece and introduces us to new and rich vocabulary that we can use in our work, as well as some amazing mythical creatures!

 

 

We can't wait to see all your smiling faces soon and start our new journey together!

        IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER

 

 

PE - Is on a Wednesday and Friday afternoons, please remember your PE kit and the appropriate clothes you need to wear for your kit.

 

HOMEWORK - New spellings will be given out every Monday, ready for a spelling test on a Friday afternoon. For this term, Reading and English based homework will be given out on a Friday, to be returned by the following Wednesday.

 

UNIFORM - We have a beautiful uniform at St Mary's and we pride ourselves on our fantastic appearance. Please make sure you attend school in the correct uniform, always looking lovely and neat!

Reading!

It is so important to keep up the level of reading you do in school at home. When you have read at home and get your record signed by an adult you can collect stickers on our class chart! The more stickers you get, the more chance of some amazing prizes!

 

 

 

Times Tables!

Keep on putting practice into your Times Tables! It is so important you keep up with these at home. We will have a weekly check on them every Tuesday afternoon and we will be practicing them before every lesson for this half term as well.
