Why did the Romans invade Britain, how successful were they, and how did they influence Britain?
Get ready to travel back nearly 2,000 years to a time when Roman soldiers marched across Britain, built huge roads and created bustling towns!
In this exciting topic, you will discover why the Romans invaded Britain and what they hoped to gain. You will learn about powerful Roman leaders, brave Celtic tribes and the battles that changed Britain forever. But did the Romans really succeed? You will investigate their victories, the places they conquered and the areas they could never control.
You will also explore the amazing changes the Romans brought to Britain. You’ll discover how they built straight roads, impressive bridges, forts and towns. You’ll find out what life was like in a Roman town, from visiting the baths to shopping in busy markets. But, Roman Britain wasn’t just about buildings! You’ll learn about Roman food, clothing, homes, entertainment, religion and technology, and discover how Romans and Britons lived alongside each other.
Along the way, you’ll meet fascinating people, investigate ancient artefacts and uncover clues left behind by the Romans. By the end, you’ll be able to answer the big question: How successful was the Roman invasion, and how much did the Romans change Britain?
