Pentecost 2022

Pentecost

Pentecost is a very special time in the Catholic Church's year as we not only celebrate the resurrection of Jesus, but another significant event. The Holy Spirit came to the disciples on Pentecost. God the Father and Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to help and guide the Disciples so that they could spread the Good news. The event of Pentecost changed the world and helped shaped the the Church as it is now! The Holy Spirit is still with us today

On Pentecost, the Apostle Peter spoke to a gathered crowd. He asked the people to be baptised and receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit. Many people were baptised that day. The Apostles continued to baptise many people. They laid their hands on them so that they might receive the Holy Spirit, giving them strength and courage.

We created a whole school display for Pentecost. Each child added a flame and each adult added a dove to represent themselves.

We gathered together with the whole school and the parish community, to celebrate the festival of Pentecost, which represents the beginning of the Christian Church.

To finish our topic of Pentecost, we celebrated our learning by telling each other all about it in assembly.
