Year 5

WELCOME BACK

I hope you had a lovely half term holiday and are ready to come back to a very busy term.

In Year 5, we are starting a brand new topic called 'Alchemy Island'.

We are going to have to suspend our disbelief and open our minds as we are going on a magical journey to Alchemy Island!

Homework

This term, homework will be a little different.  I have sent home a sheet with ideas on for home learning activities.  The children can choose the activities they would like to complete and return their work to me by Monday 18th December.  I will still send home some weekly tasks for the children to complete every Friday to be handed in the following Wednesday.

We are really enjoying our new topic and our imaginations are running wild trying to find the portal that will transport us to Alchemy Island!

The Chief Alchemist has been using this portal to deliver us messages and challenges.  He has even delivered some samples from different locations around the island.

This topic is also inspiring some wonderful model making of different landmarks.  Keep up the home learning and we are all looking forward to seeing what else you have been doing at home.

Welcome to Year 5

Mrs Osborne

We have had a very exciting and busy start to the new school year.  Here is some information about life in Year 5.

Our topic for the first half term is Off With Her Head!  We have started to study the reign of Henry VIII and learn about his infamous six marriages.  Through our topic, we will be completing a lot of history, geography, computing, PE and art.

Our PE days are Monday and Wednesday - please remember to have your PE kits in school.

Homework is set every Friday and is due back in on the following Wednesday.

Please read at least three times a week at home.  Mrs Osborne will check your Reading Records every Monday.
