Welcome

EYFS have been learning about how we can welcome people into God's family. We visited Church to talk about what happens during Baptism and to look at and gather around the Baptismal font. Together, we also practised making the sign of cross.

After discussing how the church welcomes a baby through Baptism, we role played a Baptism to give us a better understanding of what happens during the ceremony. The families of the baby stood around the Baptismal font and the priest blessed the baby with holy water saying "I baptise you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit". The grandparents were given a lighted candle to represent the light of Jesus that has come into the baby's life 🕯️
