School Meals

School Meals / Lunchtimes

From September 2014 every child in Foundation 2, Year 1 and Year 2, in state funded schools, will be offered a free school lunch (Universal Free School Meal). Please inform staff in the school office should you wish for your child to have a school meal and for more information.
A mid day meal is available for all children attending school full time.  The cost is fixed by the Government and the present charge is £2.00 per meal - £10 per week.  Dinner money for the week should be paid on Monday mornings in advance of meals taken.  All dinner money should be placed in an envelope with the childs name, amount and class on. There is a cash tin in each classroom of which dinner money should be placed, to be sent to the school office. Cheques for schools meals should be made payable to DMBC.
If your child wishes to change from School meals to packed lunches or vice versa, this must be agreed in advance of every half term, with the school office to allow us to make the necessary arrangements.
All children are supervised by Teaching Assistants who encourage their play and offer a wide range of high quality activities. Any incidents are dealt with quickly. Issues needing further attention are referred to the Headteacher or Deputy Head.

Subject to availability. Current and up to date weekly meal menus are displayed in the school reception.
